È stato assegnato ieri sera al Lund Fantastic Film Festival il Méliès d’or per il miglior film fantastico europeo del 2016. La giuria tutta svedese, composta da Charlotte Wiberg, dottorando in film studies; Tommy Gustafsson, professore di film studies alla Linnaeus University e Johan Simonsson, del FilmCentrum Syd di Malmö, ha scelto tra gli 8 lungometraggi candidati Raw (Grave) di Julia Ducournau.
“Shocking in the very best sense of the word, this film is a gory family drama about crossing the line that separates normality from the unacceptable, and vice versa. It keeps surprising the audience up to the very end, and does so quite brilliantly“.
Per quanto riguarda invece la categoria miglior cortometraggio a trionfare è stato The Frozen Eye (L’oeil silencieux) di Karim Ouelhaj.
“A surreal and captivating film that skillfully paints a picture of isolation within modern society. It’s a tale of progressing decay and madness placed within an excellent and convincing mise-en-scène that manages to pull the spectator into its world“.
La prossima Méliès d’or ceremony si terrà a Sitges – Festival Internacional de Cinema de Catalunya nell’ottobre del 2017.
