L’americano Simon Wells è in vacanza in Gran Bretagna quando viene rapinato dal criminale King, che lo attira in un vicolo deserto tramite la seducente e complice sorella Joan. In seguito quest’ultima fugge con Simon, scatenando la rabbia di King, che prova nei suoi confronti sentimenti più che fraterni. Nella loro fuga Simon e Joan finiscono in una base militare dove scopriranno un gruppo di bambini tenuti nascosti. Sono mutanti, creati per sopravvivere a un disastro nucleare, ma al costo di essere loro stessi radioattivi. Simon e Joan, impietositi, cercheranno di pianificare la loro evasione.
Simon Wells, American visitor to Britain, is being set up by a thug named King who sends out his comely sister Joan to lure the American to where he can be conveniently mugged; later she switches sides and hightails it with Simon, which enrages King, his feelings toward his sister being somewhat more than brotherly. As Simon and Joan escape, they wander into a military base, in which, through contrivance, they meet a group of children who have been tucked away at the base. The children are mutants – designed to survive a nuclear holocaust, but at the cost of being radioactive themselves. Simon and Joan take pity on the children and attempt to engineer their escape.
