Entering the Cassiopeia constellation in search of a world to colonise, the young astronauts of the spaceship Zarya discover the planet Alpha, protected by an atmosphere similar to Earth. It is inhabited by human beings who, kept in slavery by robots, have lost all reason and no longer experience emotions or feelings.
