Nel 1974 il regista cileno Alejandro Jodorowsky, i cui film Il topo e La montagna sacra hanno lanciato e definito i contorni del fenomeno dei midnight movies, inizia a lavorare al suo progetto più ambizioso. Protagonista suo figlio dodicenne Brontis, accanto a Orson Welles, Mick Jagger, David Carradine e Salvador Dalì, con musiche dei Pink Floyd e opere d’arte dei più provocatori talenti dell’epoca come H.R. Giger e Jean “Moebius” Giraud: l’adattamento di Jodorowsky al romanzo di Herbert era pronto per cambiare il cinema per sempre.
In 1974, Chilean director Alejandro Jodorowsky, whose films El Topo and La montaña sagrada launched and defined the outlines of the midnight movie phenomenon, began work on his most ambitious project ever. Starring his 12-year-old son Brontis, together with Orson Welles, Mick Jagger, David Carradine and Salvador Dalì, with music by Pink Floyd and artworks by the most provocative talents of the time such as H.R. Giger and Jean “Moebius” Giraud. Jodorowsky’s adaptation of Herbert’s novel was poised to change cinema forever.
