Alan Jones, Direttore Artistico del TS+F, non aveva idea di quanto influenti e lungimiranti sarebbero state le sue idee sul genere fantasy, quando iniziò a scrivere per il giornale inglese best seller ‘Starburst’, nel decennio di STAR WARS. Oggi, tutte le sue recensioni sono state riunite in un corposo volume edito dalla FAB Press: ‘Starburst – The Complete Alan Jones Reviews 1977 – 2008’, che rivela come egli sia diventato per caso un appassionato pioniere, e che traccia la crescita di questo genere cinematografico fino a vederlo diventare una potenza di botteghino a livello globale, percorrendo tutti i trend più influenti. Assieme a lui nella presentazione, anche Jeremy Dyson, membro della ‘League of Gentlemen’ e autore di ‘Killing Eve’, il quale ha scritto una delle prefazioni al libro, dal momento che le recensioni di Jones rispecchiavano il suo stesso amore per il genere, e Martin Unsworth, attuale vicedirettore della nuova edizione di ‘Starburst’.

Now all his reviews have been compiled into the massive FAB Press volume ‘Starburst: The Complete Alan Jones Reviews 1977 – 2008’, revealing how he became an accidental fanboy pioneer and charting the rise of the genre as a global box-office force through every major trend. He will be joined in the presentation by Jeremy Dyson, ‘League of Gentlemen’ member and writer of ‘Killing Eve’, who wrote one of the forewords for the book because Jones’ reviews engendered his own love of the genre and Martin Unsworth, the current assistant editor of the rebooted ‘Starburst’.
