Trieste Science+Fiction Festival announces that the Lifetime Achievement Silver Urania Award 2016 will be awarded to Dutch actor Rutger Hauer, world-renowned for his performance in Blade Runner by Ridley Scott. Rutger Hauer will attend Trieste’s event and will receive the award on Friday, November 4th at the official ceremony in the Tripcovich Hall.

It is the famous monologue uttered by replicant Roy Batty – alias Rutger Hauer – in Blade Runner by Ridley Scott. In the BBC’s documentary Dangerous Days: On the Edge of Blade Runner, Hauer, director Ridley Scott and screenwriter David Peoples declared that it was the Dutch actor who himself wrote the monologue of one of the most memorable and touching sequences in the history of cinema.
With that role, Rutger Hauer became an absolute icon of modern cinematographic science fiction.
