The futurology meetings, which have been balancing science and science-fiction for years within the framework of the Trieste Science+Fiction Festival, are being restyled for this year’s edition. The idea is to hold our traditional in-depth meetings, carried out in collaboration with all the research Institutes in Trieste, with a focus on documentaries including both the already tested environmentthemed ones (in collaboration with ARPA FVG – LaREA) and others which are more unusual as they combine the art-science pair with the imagination of the most daring filmakers. La Cappella Underground is also at the forefront of production with Pilgrim Film Productions: the docufilm Galois. Storia di un matematico rivoluzionario, created by Giuseppe Mussardo, directed by Diego Cenetiempo and produced by SISSA e ICTP has just started its journey around the world proving yet again that cinema can be of crucial support to science communication.
The traditional morning talks will continue to be held within the festival under the different title of “Science fiction cafè” and will be dealing with three themes: comics, literature and games. A central event of the talks, on the anniversary of his birth, will be the panel on Arthur C. Clarke, scientist and writer contaminated by movie fame thanks to the space odissey of 2001.
