Julien Carbon and Laurent Courtiaud were born in France and met in Paris. Sharing a passion for Asian cinema, they teamed up as award-winning screenwriters for numerous Hong Kong productions. In 2007, they founded Red East Pictures, a production company in collaboration with director Wong Kit. Red Nights is their directorial debut.
