Dr Matthew Roney and his assistant Barbara Judd are called to inspect some unusual prehistoric skulls exposed during building work on an extension to the London Underground system, and further excavations reveal a large object resembling a rocket. When the object is finally penetrated, large locust-like beings are unearthed.
