Little Joe

Alice è una madre single che lavora con grande dedizione nel laboratorio botanico di un’azienda impegnata nello sviluppo di nuove specie floreali. Ha creato un fiore rosso molto speciale, non solo per la sua bellezza ma anche per le sue proprietà terapeutiche: se mantenuto a una temperatura ideale, curato appropriatamente e intrattenuto in regolari conversazioni, rende felice il suo proprietario. Violando la politica aziendale, Alice ne porta un esemplare a casa come regalo per il figlio adolescente, Joe: lo chiamano “Little Joe”, ma, mentre la pianta cresce, cresce anche il sospetto di Alice che le sue nuove creazioni non siano così innocue come il loro soprannome suggerirebbe.

Alice, a single mother, is a dedicated senior plant breeder at a corporation engaged in developing new species. She has engineered a very special crimson flower, remarkable not only for its beauty but also for its therapeutic value: if kept at the ideal temperature, fed properly and spoken to regularly, this plant makes its owner happy. Against company policy, Alice takes one home as a gift for her teenage son, Joe. They christen it ‘Little Joe’ but as it grows, so too does Alice’s suspicion that her new creations may not be as harmless as their nickname suggests.
