In una Ravenna apparentemente fantastica, Osvaldo Rossi è il giovane funzionario di una potente ditta, la “Smack O-Mat Corporation”, i cui membri si sono adeguati a ferree regole conformistiche, usando tutti l’identico abbigliamento, portando tutti basettoni “ottocenteschi”, e viaggiando tutti con lo stesso lussuoso tipo di automobile, prodotta dalla ditta. Osvaldo, al contrario, tenta a tutti i costi di dimostrarsi anticonformista: si muove su pattini a rotelle, non si lascia crescere la barba e passa il tempo libero a giocare con altri pochi amici non conformisti come lui.
Osvaldo Rossi is a young man working in a big firm, the “Smack O-Mat Corporation”, in Ravenna, presented as a fantastic city. The people working for that company follow very conformist rules: they all wear the same clothing, they all have sideburns and they all drive the same expensive type of car, produced by the company itself. Osvaldo, on the contrary, tries to be eccentric so he uses roller-skates, he shaves his beard and he spends his free time with a few friends who are as eccentric as he is.
