But the resistance movement, lacking outside support, was finally crushed. Then, in 1944, the resistance movement reappered. This is the story of what happened when history was re-written. The Nazi Wehrmacht has won the Second World War and is an army of occupation in England’s green and pleasant land. Pauline Murray, an Irish girl working in the English countryside as a nurse, is moved to London, where she eventually joins up with the underground Resistence movement.
