Un enigmista cieco (Karl Malden) passeggiando in strada con la nipotina di dieci anni, ode i frammenti di una conversazione dalla quale arguisce trattarsi di un ricatto. Poco dopo, un guardiano di un importante Istituto di Genetica viene tramortito da uno sconosciuto che penetra nell’istituto senza rubare niente. Il giorno seguente, uno scienziato dell’istituto stesso viene spinto sotto un treno dalla pensilina della stazione da una mano ignota che però un fotografo di un giornale riesce a riprendere.
A blind man who makes puzzles (Karl Malden), is walking along the street with his 10-years-old granddaughter and casually happens to overhear pieces of a conversation, soon realizing it is about a blackmail. Shortly after, the guard of an important Institution of Genetics is knocked out by a stranger who sneaks inside the building without stealing anything. On the next day, a scientist of this same Institute is pushed under a incoming train from the platform of the railway station by an unknown person, but by sheer chance a photoreporter manages to take a picture of it.
