Il dottor Henry Jekyll è un medico irreprensibile, devoto verso i malati e attivamente impegnato nella ricerca scientifica. Incuriosito dalle opinioni del futuro suocero, Sir George Carew, sulla doppia natura dell’essere umano, inizia una serie di esperimenti che lo porteranno presto a scoprire un siero capace di separare il male dal bene. Jekyll non esita ad assumere subito il composto, subendo una tremenda metamorfosi in un individuo dall’assoluta malvagità: Mr. Hyde. Per esprimere in musica il grande tema del dualismo tra ragione e pulsione, Di Benedetto e Minguzzi sperimentano in Duo con le timbriche e gli ambienti sonori offerti dalle loro singolari strumentazioni.
Dr. Henry Jekyll is an irreproachable doctor, dedicated to his patients and actively committed to scientific research. Intrigued by the opinions on the double nature of human beings of his father-in-law, Sir George Carew, he begins a series of experiments which will soon lead him to discover a serum able to separate good from evil. Jekyll does not hesitate to test the serum himself: he transforms into his evil double, Mr. Hyde. In order to musically express the great theme of the dualism of reason and impulse, the duo Di Benedetto and Minguzzi experiment with the timbre and sound ambience created by their unusual instruments.
