Can we still talk about copyright in the age of generative AI, where all intellectual property is exploited without consent? Is this a phenomenon we have to learn to live with, or is there an alternative way?

Artificial Intelligence as applied to audiovisual production

A hands-on introduction to AI as applied to filmmaking and to audiovisual production, scheduling a morning session focusing on theory and an afternoon session on practice.
The workshop will primarily focus on storytelling and technical aspects related to AI-driven production, specifically highlighting how AiMation Studios integrates AI into the creative and technical processes. Participants are encouraged to bring their laptops, though it is not essential. The session will focus on practical demonstrations of AI tools and techniques, with participants able to follow along if they have laptops.

Tutor: Tom Paton
Tom Paton is a nine-time Feature Film Director and Screen International Genre Rising Star 2017 nominee. He is widely known for his technology skills as well as diverse portfolio of work in the film and commercial sector. Tom is one of the hardest working Director’s in today’s market; since 2016 he’s been directing 11 films, among them PANDORICA, REDWOOD, BLACK SITE, G-LOC, 400 BULLETS, MOONQUAKE. Recently he founded Pigeon Shrine, and has become a leading voice in the integration and use of Artificial Intelligence within the entertainment sector
