Launched in April 2024 by the Croatian Audiovisual Centre, Games Croatia is one of the most recent government-backed programmes providing support for the national video game industry, following a more and more common trend in Europe. A presentation of the project by its Head Benjamin Noah Maričak, and a broader overview of public funding at the European level.

A debate between the regional institutions in charge of supporting the audiovisual industry in Veneto and Friuli, and several video game development companies, trying to spot out problems, needs and ideas to develop support instruments for local game developers.

Business Plan 101: How to make a bomb-proof business plan for your video game

Developing a video game is not only a technical or artistic matter: it is necessary to carefully plan ahead the production of the project in order to optimize its budget and effectively place it in the market. The workshop will deal with this crucial though often disregarded stage, in order to provide a practical technical background to aspiring professional game developers.

Has been earning his living by working with video games since 1996, first as a journalist and translator, then as a producer for companies such as Milestone, Digital Bros., Midnite, AnotheReality, Mac ‘n’ Cheese and many more. He has been teacher in Game Production at NABA in Milan and Event Horizon School.
