Wanda, una giovane provinciale, dopo una delusione amorosa, viene a Parigi per studiare pittura. Un certo dottor Liancurt, amico del fratello, dovrebbe incontrarla alla stazione, ma non viene. Qui lei fa la conoscenza con una vecchia signora, Leonie, che le propone di affittarle una stanza. Wanda accetta e vi si reca subito. Ha una sorpresa: la stanza è triangolare ed ha una porta che la padrona di casa le ingiunge di non aprire mai.
Wanda, a young provincial, after a love disappointment, comes to Paris to study painting. A certain Dr. Liancurt, a friend of her brother, should meet her at the station, but he does not come. Here she makes the acquaintance of an old lady, Leonie, who offers her to rent her a room. Wanda accepts and goes there immediately. She has a surprise: the room is triangular and has a door that the landlady orders her never to open.
