La famosa rock band The Paperback Music è convocata per un grande concerto a Big Depression. Arrivati a destinazione, nessun evento musicale sembra pronto per quel giorno, ma all’improvviso si apre un passaggio segreto diretto al pianeta Planio, dove il dittatore Balthazar ha bandito ogni genere di musica. Animazione in stop motion realizzata con cartoncini colorati, Acid Space mescola in maniera scanzonata ma cosciente reminiscienze pop anni ’80, la bidimensionalità dei primi video-games e un certo universo infantile ma molto caro a Wes Anderson.
The famous rock band The Paperback Music is summoned for a big concert in Big Depression. Once there no music event seems on schedule for that day, but suddenly a secret passage for planet Planio opens up, where all music has been forbidden by the dictator Balthazar. By using stop motion animation realised with coloured cardboards, Acid Space mixes in a consciously easygoing style pop memories from the 80s, the early two-dimensional video games and a certain childish yet cultivated universe much loved by Wes Anderson.
