Nel futuro, il sole misteriosamente scompare, facendo piombare in un caos apocalittico una civiltà basata unicamente sull’energia solare. In una macchina elettrica ormai scarica, Yang, un solitario astronomo, e Mu, la sua spumeggiante vicina di casa, abbandonano la confortevole vita del Distretto Uno. Al Distretto Due trovano una città fantasma con immobili mulini a vento, dove la temperatura scende sotto lo zero. L’ossigeno si esaurisce nel Distretto Tre, dove devono fare i conti con una banda di minatori plagiati. L’unica speranza è che un qualche miracolo li attenda nella loro meta finale: il Distretto Quattro. Come il pianeta Terra, orfano del Sole, anche loro gravitano alla ricerca di luce in una perpetua oscurità.
In the future, instead of a red giant expansion, the sun mysteriously disappears. A solar reliant civilization is plagued by apocalyptic consequences. In a failing electric car, Yang, a reclusive astronomer, and Mu, his bubbly neighbor, escape the warm and comfortable lifestyle of District One. Temperature goes subzero in District Two, a ghost city with standstill windmills. Oxygen depletes in District Three, as they grapple with a gang of brainwashed coal miners. The only hope for the neighbours is that a miracle awaits them at their final destination, District Four. Akin to the now orphan planet earth, Yang and Mu gravitate forward, in search of light in the perpetual darkness.
