Mad God is a stop-motion film on which legendary visual effects craftsman Phil Tippett (TS+FF Life Achievement Award in 2019) started working in 1987. It invites us not so much as to watch a story unfold as to be transported from our world to another world entirely – one of monsters, mad scientists, and war pigs – where the world we live in can be viewed as if through the lens of Hieronymous Bosch crossed with Buster Keaton.
